Pours a pale golden colour with white rim of small bubbles. Small lace but not too sticky. A bit dull-looking.
Smells sweet with big honey notes but blending with a nice belt of earthy funk. Touch of spice, bit of rubber and wattle as well. Vanilla as well. Impressed; I get something new each time.
Taste is very funky and phenolic. Huge rubber note with astringent pepper, barnyard and some odd tangy notes on top giving raspberries and cream, even. At the same time it's quite bottom heavy with a touch of booze to it. Fermented simple sugar finishes it off, sadly. There are lovely flavours in there but it doesn't finish with them. Decent overall.
Swills with a slight bitty texture. Slight pull on the back.
Nice saison notes, but tastes a wee bit unhinged at times.

Tried on tap at Cammeray Craft.
Pours a clear gold, bit of mild haze. Head is white, large bubbles with some lace. Pretty golden ale-esque. Not bad but not great.
Smells hoppy, but a big buttery aroma as well. Big creamy malt with butter character, touch of nuts, oak, nice tangy hops that could be more robust.
Taste is quite bitter. Hints of that buttery malt upfront, then lots of earthy bitterness. Slight lemon pith character; mostly earthy slightly gritty bitterness. Long bitter finish that starts early and leaves late. Not too bad but could use a bit more zestiness on the palate overall. Decent character but doesn't quite have the balance overall to make it greatly drinkable.
Fluid, bit of pull from hops. Other than that no real texture.
Hits the right notes but lingers on the wrong ones. Needs more colour and shade, I guess.
Pours amber orange, nice head when poured, but dissipates quickly to leave a lovely cradle of off-white foam. Nice lace but would like more retention.
Smells subdued. Some fruit with tangy green apple notes, some citrus and some big toffee and peanut brittle notes. Somewhat resinous as well. OL, could use more fragrance.
Taste is tangy; that finger lime comes through gangbusters; actually to the detriment of the hops, which could be more potent. Just some earthy bitterness coming through late. Nutty note to the malt which is all caramel otherwise. I like it; it's tasty. I don't love it though. Just needs a bit more IPA in it.
Body is a bit thin; texture from hops and carbonation is gentle though so decent feel.
Nice twist to the IPA, but I feel the base IPA needs a bit of foundation work.
